Physical Education is offered for three quarters of the year. Activities range from individual to team sports. Also physical fitness and recreational activities are explored for lifetime skills and activities. Students find it to be a stress relief during the school day and a good outlet to release some energy. Students are enrolled in junior family life 3rd quarter. Students are just finishing up tennis and will be starting Ultimate Frisbee.
Driver's Education for sophomores begins 2nd quarter.
**** Please note if a student is on a medical excuse from physical education they are required to check in and out of class every day. They can go to the library once they have checked in. A three page paper on a mutually decided topic will be due on the last Friday of each unit the student misses. ****
Teen Pep has successfully completed 62 workshops in the academic year 2015-2016. . Incoming students are gearing up for their retreat in June and will be attending Passing It On Night on May 25, 2016 from 6:00-9:00 pm in the cafeteria/library. Workshops completed this year include, Puberty, Postponing,HIV , STI'S, Contraceptive Methods, Homophobia Reduction, and Dating Violence. The students presented to over 600 people at world youth aids day at the Clinton Inn as guests of Hackensack University Medical Center. Parents night was a total success and the students have ventured into other programs to pass on the good work of Teen PEP. The students are currently focusing on Sexual Assault, Mental Health and Sexual Harassment. The goal for the end of the year is to formulate a new workshop which will be proposed to Princeton during the summer.
Virtual High School
Virtual High School is off to a great start. We have 17 students enrolled and several taking AP Courses. There is still room for anyone interested in applying. Students taking VHS must be computer literate and good at independent learning. These classes are taken in addition to your regular high school classes and cannot repeat any of the classes offered at the High School. The students have currently finished three weeks of classes and are averaging a 95 in their classes. Ranging from AP classes to semester classes.
Family Life Two
Junior Family Life will begin third quarter. Students will be going through several units on sexuality, reproduction and illness prevention. During the third quarter they will be going to Room 140 instead of the gym. Please clear your lockers out for the third quarter but leave your lock on as we will be back their fourth quarter for Physical Education.
